Emily's Baking Skills

Emily has taken up baking. It is wonderful to have her baking up all sorts of yummy treats! Sunday she made her 3rd pie so we had to have 3 candles to celebrate. It was a delicious banana cream pie and Rachel was a great help to her sister by cleaning up any and all bowls, spoons or spatulas. Thanks Emily!

Oh! If any of you knew of our long time decision on what color to paint the kitchen......as you can see, we finally made a decision. Red! Thanks Curt!

Talent Competition

I just had to post this! Rachel tried out over Labor Day weekend for our town's talent show! I was so proud of her. She sang a Taylor Swift song and just gets better and better on her guitar! I don't know who was more nervouse.....me or Rachel.
But, I am so proud of her!
Way to go Rachel!

Matt's Homecoming

Matt & Melissa

Zack, McKenna, Matt, Melissa, Lindsey & Sam

I'm going back a little bit on time here.....Matt just sent to homecoming and I wanted to add some pics of that! He and his friends had dinner in Sam's backyard and we 3 mom's got to put dinner together. It was fun to be a part of. Some days, I can't believe I have a son old enough to date! It's a great time though!

Les Miserables

Rachel and I spontaneously took off at 3:30 yesterday to St. George in Southern Utah to see Les Miserables. The idea came to me at about 2:30 and I called for tickets (and Curt for his thoughts). They had some and Curt found a hotel for us. Rachel stepped off the bus a few minutes after 3. We threw our things together and we were off!

After stopping for gas and a bathroom stop, we got there at 7:00, checked into a hotel and drove right out to the Tuacahn outdoor theatre. It started at 8:00 and after standing in the will call line, we fell into our seats at 7:50. Whew! We made it! It was so fun! I've been dying to take her to this all summer and it was last night that we could possibly go. We didn't have school today so the only bummer was that she had to be back to Payson by noon today for play practice. So we slept for a bit and got up at 7:00, got ready and drove back. We pulled into her school at 12:15 because she was assigned to bring ice cream and we had to stop for that!

The play was fantastic and we are tired, but it was well worth it. I had a wonderful time singing songs in the car, being with Rachel and it's something we will always remember.

Blogging

Many of my friends have blogs. I have had a bit of blog envy lately. I keep asking myself, "do you even have time to blog?" My good friend Tina has had her blog up and running for a year now. Since she lives in Arizona, I love checking out her entries and keeping up with her life and her family. So I told myself "yes, you have time!" and so I am jumping into the blog world! If I can figure it out!
