When Curt went bow hunting last Fall, he had hoped and dreamed of getting a big bull. Well, his dreams, hard work and years of waiting finally came. Rachel went with him to haul the elk out on the horses and she insisted that he mount it. So, the phone call came on a cold Saturday morning in January that the elk was ready to come home. We have joked for years about the blank wall in our home above the stairs. It was the perfect place for an elk or a perfect place for my quilt....that still is not done. Whoever got their's done first, got the wall. Well, Curt won! Brian, the elk, as we have named him is now on our wall. At first, I hated it. I would come down the hall early in the morning and be alarmed by the big animal hanging there. But, as time does, it helps you get used to things. Curt actually wants to take him down because he pretty much dominates the entire house. The girls were pleading with him to leave it and I really don't mind Brian anymore. If we had a vaulted ceiling, it wouldn't be so bad. We don't have anywere else for the poor thing to go, so until we find him a good home he's staying on my wall. I really never, ever imagined I would have an elk on my wall and that I would be used to it. Never.

Wow! He's huge!

I was praying no one would fall!
